The Detroit Symphony Orchestra announce their upcoming free webcasts of concerts during their Tchaikovsky Festival

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra has announced their upcoming free webcasts of concerts during their Tchaikovsky Festival. The Festival will run for three weeks and will feature the orchestra’s Music Director, Leonard Slatkin, celebrated pianist Olga Kern, violinist Julian Rachlin and cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan.

At the core of the festival are six programmes at Orchestra Hall presenting Tchaikovsky’s six symphonies, noted concerti and other major orchestral works, along with  pieces that are rarely heard and most likely unfamiliar to many patrons.

The event starts at 8:00pm EST (1:00am GMT) on Saturday 14th February 2015 with a concert featuring Tchaikovsky’s Marche Solennelle, Piano Concerto No. 2 and Symphony No. 6, ‘Pathétique’ conducted by the orchestra’s Music Director Leonard Slatkin with pianist Olga Kern.
